In my work, I try to capture the world as it is today – like a carrousel in constant motion and development. It creates waves and open rooms. We are human and therefore physical and figurative; however, it is still man’s mental that is the most significant part. The intangible abstract, the forgotten that suddenly makes sense and surfaces as “memories of space”.

The paintings are constructed, painted over, then rebuilt so that every unnecessary element that isn’t satisfying is removed. I am not interested in the purely figurative painting. To me, the tension is placed in-between the figurative and the abstract, where one will see organic or almost recognisable shapes as well as the colours being of central character. It needs to be many things.

My inspiration comes from the world that revolves around me, in the relations with other people, the playful, the fierce, the loving, and the vigorous and fragile. All of this is transformed into painting in order to create new contexts and correlations.

The materials used in my work is primarily acrylic, spirit and coal on canvas.
